Sumitomo Electric U.S.A., Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. (SEI) in Japan, one of the largest wire and cable manufactures in the world. Since its foundation as the US headquarters of SEI in 1971, Sumitomo Electric U.S.A. has been acting as a new business incubator for SEI group companies in and around the North American market.Sumitomo Electric U.S.A. has generated and grown many new businesses, several of which were then able to spin off and establish their own sales or manufacturing companies. Currently SEI has more than 30 subsidiaries/affiliates in North America and Sumitomo Electric U.S.A. has made significant contributions to the foundation and expansion of many of them.
